Okay, that's a start. "Facts" are simply opinions. Due to debates, we can arrive at new opinions. Based on consensus, people may choose to believe that certain opinions are more likely to be "true." You and I can agree, for example, that the name of this newsgroup is alt.philosophy.objectivism. That is an example of a shared opinion that allows a common reference point. However: Opinions, I believe, should not be mistaken for "truth." There is no such thing as objective truth, since there would have to be some non-subjective being capable of evaluating the truth-value of a particular opinion. Since there is no such being, there are no truths and thus no facts. Just strong opinions and weak opinions. I can go on, but let's see how we feel so far. John?
