FC: Differences between a.u.m. and CoE version

The enclosed is a list of the differences between the version of FC's
manifesto currently available on alt.usenet.manifestoes and the version we
posted last night to alt.fan.unabomber.  As you will see, our version is a
considerable improvement in terms of accuracy. The original "pathfinder"
version is riddled with errors ranging from spelling and punctuation to
transpositions, repetitions, and serious omissions. The
alt.usenet.manifestoes version corrects some, but by no means all of these
errors. 

Obviously the Washington Post version was not perfect either: it is now
well known that they omitted paragraph 116, but there were many other less
obvious errors, and we have marked these in our correction list with the
symbol "*POSTERROR*". The only contentious point is the five instances of
the word "leftish" in the Post version.  Some Net versions have corrected
this to "leftist" while others have not. It seems to us that there should
be an emphasis on readability and consistency as well as accuracy; in view
of the fact that the manifesto uses both "leftish" and "leftist"
interchangeably, often in the same sentence, we have decided to view the
usage as a typographical error, rather than a stylistic eccentricity.  If
this presents major problems, please contact us.
