Unabomber and the New Left

From: thowe@io.org (Todd Howe)

The 35,000 word manuscript the 'Unabomber' is attempting to extort major
American print media institutions into publishing begins like this -
'The industrial revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the
human race'

Further on, the serial bomber/s write 'In order to get our message before
the public with some chance at making a lasting impression, we've had to
kill people'. (As summarized in the NY Times, and Toronto Star June 30)

Can there _possibly_ be made a balder, more explicit statement of what
motivates someone driven by a hatred of values? This nihilism - that
primeval urge to destruction - is what lies at the end of the road for the
movements colloquially grouped under the term 'the new left'. Perhaps when
this manifesto of hatred IS published, the world will have a crystal-clear
view of the contents of this particular sewer - and hopefully it will be an
aid in discrediting _any_ degree of the massive evasion necessary in order
to say that industrial production is a 'disaster' for the human race.
