What was Donzerly?
Donzerly was a reader's group that used to meet once every six weeks in
the Bay Area to discuss different novels.
Donzerly was founded by Merrilee Proffitt and Shannon Page.
Donzerly was disbanded through apathy of members other than
the founders; perhaps Salman killed us. I leave this page here
because all of the books are worth reading, and because someday
we might start it up again.
Past novels were:
- Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie (March, 1995)
- White Noise by Don DeLillo (January, 1995)
- Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker (December, 1994)
- Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
(November, 1994)
- The Shipping News by E. Annie Proulx (October, 1994)
- Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (August, 1994)
- The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver (June, 1994)
